• Strong service access and aggregation capability

ZXMP M820 enable access of varieties of optical signals with formats like STM-N, POS, ATM, GE, 10 GE, FC, ESCON, FICON and DVB.

• Intelligent and three-dimensional service scheduling and grooming

In support of WSON, ZXMP M820 incorporate ROADM, OTN electrical cross-connect technique and L2 switching to build an intelligent and multi-layer service grooming system.

Applicable to trans-ring interconnection and Mesh networking, ROADM offers photonic cross connection and flexible photonic-layer scheduling. It also supports 2-10-degree agile lambda-level scheduling.

OTN-based centralized electrical cross-connect platform and distributed electrical cross-connect platform can provide ODU0/1/2 based cross-connect scheduling, perform flexible scheduling of GE/2.5G/10G services, and implement network traffic aggregation and grooming. Its full use of wavelength channel results in higher wavelength utilization rate.

L2 switching platform supports bandwidth convergence of 24 GE to one 10GE, as well as L2 switching of VLAN, QinQ, carrying data services more effectively.

• Highly integrated, power-saving, power reduction, green and eco-friendly

ZXMP M820 sub-rack is 9.5U in height, and totally 6 sub-racks can be installed on the rack. The sub-rack has 26 service board slots and enables 80-λ OTM configuration, saving equipment-room space. Use of integrated optical components to substitute distributed components effectively reduce power consumption, adaptable to the requirement for the green and eco-friendly network.

• Large transmission capacity and modular upgradeability

ZXMP M820 can be configured as 40/80/96-λ DWDM and 18-λ CWDM in compliance with ITU-T recommendation, and support modular upgrade with increment of 4 lambdas.

Large transmission capacity full accommodates metro networks’ requirement for bandwidth, while modular upgrade mode ensures low investment in initial builds and tomorrow’s smooth capacity expansion, thus mitigating capital stress in network constructions.

• Perfect protection function

ZXMP M820 offer 1+1 protection for critical boards like main control board, power board and cross-connect board, and support the industry’s most comprehensive photonic-layer protection techniques and electrical-layer protection techniques, in which, ring channel shared protection technique is ZTE’s self-developed ring protection technique with completely independent intellectual property. In addition to offering 50ms carrier-class protection, ring channel shared protection can save wavelength and channel resources.

• Intelligent optical network WSON

ZXMP M820 support GMPLS-based WSON control plane, enable auto-discovery of network resources and topology, automatic routing, automatic signaling switching, as well as automatic setup of service route, fast end-to-end service provisioning, service grooming and traffic control, enhancing network survivability and boosting network resource utilization.
