The RH2485 V2 server (RH2485 V2 for short) is a four-socket server developed by Huawei. It is dedicated for the high performance computing (HPC), cloud computing, enterprise markets, and telecom service applications. To be specific, it applies to the scenarios that use HPC, databases, web servers, virtualization, basic enterprise applications, and telecom service applications. The RH2485 V2 features high performance computing, low power consumption, easy maintenance, high reliability, and customization.

6 Storage controller card The RH2485 V2 supports the SR120 (LSI SAS2308), SR220 (LSI SAS2208-8), SR620 (LSI SAS2208-8), SR620C(LSI SAS2208–8), SR520BC(LSI SAS2208–32), and SR320BC(LSI SAS2208–16) controller cards to configure RAID for its hard disks. The controller cards provide 512 MB or 1 GB cache, support RAID state migration, RAID configuration memory, self-diagnosis, and web-based remote configuration.

  • The SR120 controller card supports RAID 0, 1, 10 and 1E but neither battery protection nor super capacitor protection.
  • The SR220 controller card supports RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, and 50, and provides a BBU to protect cache data.
  • The SR620 supports RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 50, 6, and 60, and provides a BBU to protect cache data.
  • The SR620C supports RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 50, 6, and 60, and provides a supercapacitor to protect cache data.
  • The SR520BC supports RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 50, 6, and 60, and provides a BBU and supercapacitor to provide cache data.

7 Riser card tray The tray is for supporting a riser card and its expansion card.
8 10 GE or FCoE controller card The 10 GE or FCoE controller cards are optional. They support 10 GE, Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) technologies.

NOTICE:

The PSUs provide short-circuit protection. The PSUs that support dual input live wires provide double-pole fuses.

Two PSUs are configured to support 1+1 redundancy.

NOTE:

The 1+1 redundancy mode is conditional on PSUs at 110 V AC voltage (CPU usage is less than or equal to 70%).

AC PSUs convert AC power into DC power for the RH2485 V2.

14 Shelf cover A shelf cover is placed over a shelf and protects all the components in the shelf.
15 Supercapacitor or cache battery When the RH2485 V2 uses the SR220, SR620, SR620C, SR520BC, or SR320BC controller card, a supercapacitor or cache battery is required to provide power protection and support RAID data migration and RAID configuration memory. You use either a supercapacitor or a cache battery
16 Battery tray A battery tray is used to support and secure a super capacitor or cache battery.
17 Air duct The air duct is a ventilation duct in a shelf.
18 Fan The fans dissipate heat for the RH2485 V2 and allow one-fan failures. The fans support hot swap. If one fan fails, the speed of the other fans is adjusted by area to ensure heat dissipation.

The PCIe expansion slots support Huawei intelligent network interface cards (iNIC). Each iNIC is able to capture packets over two GE ports at line speed to further increase the I/O bandwidth and improve I/O throughput.
